Belgrade Fall Festival & Panther Homecoming Parade Rules

Our parade is a celebration of Belgrade, our schools, our community, and our Panther pride. We ask all participants to help us create a fun, safe, and family-friendly event for everyone.

Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the parade and/or disqualification from judging and awards.

Registration & Check-In

Pre-Registration

  • All participants must register by September 8.
  • Unregistered participants will not be permitted to participate.

Mandatory Check-In

All participants must attend pre-check-in to receive their official parade number.

Check-In Location:

Belgrade Chamber of Commerce

Check-In Times:

  • September 16 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
  • September 17 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Parade Number

Your assigned parade number must be clearly displayed on your float, vehicle, trailer, or walking group at all times.

Parade Conduct

Family-Friendly Event

This is the Belgrade Panther Homecoming Parade and is intended to celebrate our schools, students, families, and community.

All entries must be appropriate for audiences of all ages.

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Profanity or offensive language
  • Lewd, obscene, or inappropriate displays
  • Inappropriate music or lyrics
  • Harassment or aggressive behavior
  • Alcohol or illegal drug use
  • Any conduct deemed unsafe or disruptive

Political Entries

Political campaign entries, political advertising, or partisan political messaging are not eligible for judging or parade awards.

Parade Theme

Entries should reflect the official parade theme and demonstrate good sportsmanship and community spirit.

Respect Volunteers & Staff

Please treat all parade volunteers, Chamber staff, parade marshals, law enforcement, and emergency personnel with courtesy and respect.

Their directions are for the safety of everyone and must be followed.

Candy & Giveaways

No Throwing Items

Throwing candy, toys, promotional items, or any other objects from vehicles or floats is strictly prohibited.

**Participants may walk alongside their entry and hand items directly to spectators.**

Parade Movement

Keep Moving

Please maintain a steady pace throughout the parade.

Avoid unnecessary stops and keep gaps between entries to a minimum.

If your vehicle experiences mechanical issues, safely move to the side of the route if instructed so the parade may continue.

Stay With Your Group

Remain with the entry in front of you and follow the directions of parade marshals to maintain proper spacing.

Float & Vehicle Safety

Height Restriction

Parade floats may not exceed 14 feet in total height.

Vehicle Safety

  • Drivers must remain with their vehicles whenever required.
  • Decorations must be securely fastened.
  • Decorations may not obstruct the driver's visibility.
  • All Montana traffic laws must be followed.

Participant Safety

All participants are expected to behave in a safe, respectful manner throughout the event.

No:

  • Alcohol
  • Illegal drugs
  • Reckless driving
  • Unsafe stunts
  • Fighting or disorderly conduct

Any unsafe behavior may result in immediate removal from the parade.

Emergency Procedures

If an emergency occurs, immediately follow the instructions of:

  • Parade Marshals
  • Law Enforcement
  • Fire Personnel
  • EMS

Parade Logistics

Line-Up

Please arrive between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Line up in numerical order according to the parade number assigned during check-in.

Parade Route

Participants must remain on the official parade route.

Leaving the route or changing the order of the parade is not permitted.

End of Parade

At the conclusion of the parade, promptly proceed to the designated exit/disassembly area to prevent congestion.

Horse Entries

Horse riders are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.

Please provide your own "pooper scooper" and ensure the parade route is left clean and safe for everyone.

Right to Remove Participants

The Belgrade Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to remove any participant or entry from the parade, before or during the event, for:

Failure to follow parade rules

Unsafe operation of a vehicle, float, or animal

Disruptive or inappropriate behavior

Failure to follow instructions from parade officials

Conduct that is offensive, threatening, or inconsistent with the family-friendly nature of the event

Actions that interfere with the safe and orderly operation of the parade

Any entry removed from the parade will not be eligible for judging or awards.
